LONG BEACH AREA CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU |
|
Established in 1982, the Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is a non-profit organization contracted with the City of Long Beach to sell, market and promote Long Beach as a destination for tourism and conventions. The CVB worked with city and community leaders to bring several high profile special events to the city, including: the 2004 US Olympic Swim Trials, Royal Rendezvous between the Queen Mary and Queen Mary 2, AMGEN Tour of California bicycle race, AKC/Eukanuba National Championship Dog Show and, most recently, Red Bull New Year No Limits Jump and the TED Conference. The CVB has five remote sales offices in Sacramento, Denver, Washington DC, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago (as well as a sales team in Long Beach) and has increased sales by 50 percent in the past nine years; despite the economy the team has continued to maintain this booking pace. The satellite offices permit sales staff to be closer to customers and focus on relationship selling. With a strong emphasis on providing superior customer service, along with personalized attention for convention and meeting clients, the CVB has been consistently recognized with a string of major industry awards over the years, including: Meeting News Magazine’s Planner’s Choice Award, Successful Meetings Magazine’s Pinnacle Award and is a member of the prestigious Meetings & Conventions “Elite Hall of Fame,” for exemplary customer service. |
